“I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.”

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.”
Miriam Beard

“Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled.”
Mohammed

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”
Maya Angelou

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
Mark Twain

In order to fully appreciate where I come from, who I am, and what I stand for; I must travel.
Going places unknown, with no plan and just the bag in my back, is a rush. A journey with an end which changes a person can not be achieved in any other way. I am sure many can say that about many different things. To each their own. For me, traveling is a simple way of changing, growing, seeing God outside my small confines of Oklahoma.

a simple thought...

I am constantly amazed how people have the ability to bring hope, change, restoration, and healing to humanity in simple things. Whether by helping someone to write a song, listening, tattooing, cooking, teaching, decorating; the list is limitless. By doing what we enjoy with love and compassion, we change lives. We change the world we live in. And that brings hope. The peace in a storm.

I don't see the world becoming any less violent, but God's love and the love of others will become more visible and strong.

“Believing in God is as much like falling in love as it is making a decision. Love is both something that happens to you and something you decide upon.”
Donald Miller

“...to be in a relationship with God is to be loved purely and furiously. And a person who thinks himself unlovable cannot be in a relationship with God because he can't accept who God is; a Being that is love. We learn that we are lovable or unlovable from other people...That is why God tells us so many times to love each other.”
Donal Miller

“One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” Henry Miller

This guy Matt and I are going on a little journey to Europe. I have been playing with the idea of Europe for ages, but could not find the right time, money or travel buddy. Not this time. Matt asked me what I thought about going and if I would want to come. To be honest I sort of shrugged it off. Trying to get off work, changing and making all kinds of plans. Money.
Finally, I talked to some important people and they all thought I should go. Huh?
So here we go, January in Europe, Brrr. I am flying into Dublin, catching a bus, going to the Guinness brewery, staying the night, then meeting up with Matt in Amsterdam. We will be taking the train to Germany and Switzerland to stay with good friends, exploring old places and eating cheese and chocolate.
Boomsies. Any suggestions, send them my way.
