a joyous weekend

Since my last post Erin and I went on an incredible hike to Emerald Bay (pictures are on facebook) and ate some pizza with new, but seemingly old friends.

Right now Erin is playing the guitar and drums, making up songs...can't get much better. CHeck out the video above to see this in action!

I got to spend this weekend with my mom. It has been so wonderful! As soon as she got here we headed straight for some grub because she hadn't eaten anything all day. So I decided to take her to our favorite place in Carson City called the Firkin and Fox, which is an Irish Pub.  It was so good.
The next day I made her breakfast. We went on the gondola for an incredible view of the lake. We wanted to try kayaking but since it was later in the day the lake was too rough.  So kayaking in Tahoe is still on my to do list for the summer.  Then we got to see Emerald Bay State Park (which Arnold Schwarzenegger will be closing down because of a lack of money, lame), it is so beautiful! After freezing our buns, seeing there was nowhere to park and getting honked at for nothing, we went for dinner at another pub called the English Tudor. That night we came back to the hotel and played some miniature golf.
All-in-all it was too short, but very sweet.

Today, Erin and I made bird feeders from all the pine cones lying around.  We also made brownies for our neighbors, which we then took to them and none of them came to the door.  It's fine, they will get a surprise at their door.

Happy Father's Day! Love you DAD!
